On 28 July, Chongchuan district and Haimen district’s nameplates were unveiled officially, which was a sign that they have entered a new developing stage. Director of Jiangsu civil affairs department Lv Deming read announcement about adjustments to some administrative areas of Nantong.

Approved by the State Council, administrative areas of Nantong were adjusted. The previous Chongchuan district and Gangzha district were cancelled and new Chongchuan district was established, which includes the previous Chongchuan and Gangzha administrative areas. Chongchuan district government will be at No.44 Taowu road, Hongqiao streets. County level Haimen city was cancelled. Nantong Haimen district was established whose administrative area is the one of previous Haimen. Haimen government will be in No. 600 Beijing middle road, Haimen streets.
