On 28 August, iconic harbour development industrial project of ‘great Tongzhou bay’ – Zenith green fine steel model project construction was started. It is a sign that Nantong major industrial project has entered one hundred billion Yuan grade.

Secretary of CPC Jiangsu Committee Lou Qinjian encouraged Zenith to make the project ‘a model of green development and industrial transformation and upgrading in coastal area’. Governor of Jiangsu Wu Zhenglong hoped that the project would be a ‘model of national strategy implementation, traditional industry upgrading, and south Jiangsu, middle Jiangsu and north Jiangsu integrated development promotion’. Deputy Secretary of CPC Jiangsu Committee Ren Zhenhe announced the start of the project.

Zenith green fine steel model project is a demonstration project of Jiangsu in implementation of national requirements, and strategic adjustment of productive force layout. It is also a harbour development project of implementation of the Yangtze River delta integration strategy and building of Tongzhou bay new estuary in Nantong. The total investment of the project is about 100 billion Yuan. Phase 1 stage 1 will start from 6.06 million-ton iron making productivity and 5.85 million-ton steel making productivity. The intended investment is 45.8 billion Yuan.

Zenith green fine steel project as the 1st one hundred billion Yuan grade major industrial project in Nantong, received a lot of attention from all parties. Special project promotion leading team and site headquarters were set up to ensure the construction with all efforts.

Board chairman of Zenith Steel Group and chief executive Dong Caiping said that they would use 13 months to build a modern intelligent green factory and would build a world class leading steel industry cluster.
