At 9:18 on 2 September, when drillers turned on the tap, a clear spring spurted out at hot spring town, Pingyuanchi village, Chengbei streets, Rugao.

‘Water comes out from the first spring. We will start to construct hot spring hotel before the end of the year, and work hard to make hot spring health project open next year.’ Secretary of CPC Committee of Pingyuanchi village Liu Weijian said.

On 3 June, based on in depth research, Pingyuanchi village started hot spring investigation, exploration and drilling work. In only two months, the 1st hot spring in Rugao spurted out. Xue Weichong from Jiangsu non-ferrous metal east China geological exploration bureau told the reporter, ‘after check, metasilicic acid per liter is 59 milligram. The concentration reached the standard to be called silicate hot well. Apart from that, the spring water contains trace elements which are good for health such as iodine and bromine. It is very suitable to develop hot spring health project.’
