On 18 May evening, Nantong grand theatre started trial operation. A symphony concert whose theme is Nantong, our homeland started the performance of trial operation of Nantong grand theatre.

Nantong grand theatre project is a 2020 Jiangsu major cultural and tourism project. It was designed by designer of National Centre for the Performing Arts, famous architectural master in France Paul Andreu. It looks like a piano from outside, which enhances the beauty of Zilang Lake. Design idea of ‘piano mountain and shiny water’ is presented perfectly. The total floor area of Nantong grand theatre is 110 thousand square meters. There are 7 floors above ground and 2 floors in the basement. There are five main function areas, which are opera house, concert hall, drama hall, children’s theatre and multi-function room. They can satisfy the needs of various types of performances and events including opera, symphony, dance and drama.
