The largest offshore wind power farm in China was completed and went into operation

Annual power generated to the grid reached 1.75 billion kilowatt hours, can satisfy the power demand of 1 million households in a year

On 29 June, at Rudong Niujiaosha sea which is 39 kilometers away from the coast, as the blade and generator body hub of the last wind turbine were connected precisely, all 80 5 megawatt wind turbines of Huaneng Shengdong Rudong H3 offshore wind farm project were installed. By then, Huaneng Rudong offshore wind farm project was completed. The total installed capacity reached 700 thousand kilowatts. It is the largest project in China up to now.

Huaneng Rudong offshore wind farm project includes two phases. The total investment is over 12 billion Yuan. Phase 1 Rudong Baxianjiao offshore wind power project is the 1st offshore wind farm of Huaneng group. It was connected to the grid with full capacity on 30 September 2017. Phase 2 project is expected to be in operation with full capacity by the end of the month.

After Huaneng Rudong offshore wind farm is in operation completely. 150 wind turbines can generate as much as 1.75 billion kilowatts to the grid per year, which can satisfy the demand of 1 million households in a year.
