A few days ago Nantong public security bureau Chongchuan office Xinchengqiao police station received a silk banner from South Africa youth Thabiso, ‘Ren Min Jing Cha, Re Xin Wei Min’ eight characters were embroidered on the silk banners to express his gratitude to the police’s help.
On 20 July, after dinner at a barbecue restaurant in the jurisdiction, Thabiso found out that his scooter was smashed. He had disputes with others, but there was difficulties in communication due to language barrier. Receiving the call, policeman of Xinchengqiao police station Luo Dawei provided interpretation and mediated, after skilled and patient interpretation, the dispute was settled successfully and Thabiso’ rights were safeguarded.
It is learnt that 24-year-old policeman Luo Dawei graduated from Jiangsu Police Institute last year. At school he was very interested in English especially English used in police work. He passed English CET-4 and CET-6 exams with high scores and assisted teachers in English documents research for several times. He said that he was very proud to use his English skills to solve problems for people.
