On 19 April, statistical data published by Nantong Customs showed that, in the first quarter of 2022, the realized foreign trade import and export of Nantong is 83.62 billion Yuan, which is ranked the 4th in Jiangsu, there is an increase of 22.3%, the increase rate is 11.6% and 8.3% more than those of the state and Jiangsu province, it accounts for 6.5% of the total import and export of Jiangsu. Among them, the export is 53.97 billion Yuan, there is an increase of 20.5%; the import value is 29.65 billion Yuan, there is an increase of 25.6%.

The import and export to America and Japan increased faster, and import and export to EU and ASEAN increase is slowed down. America surpassed ASEAN temporarily, became the second large trade partner of our city.

Increase in general trade import and export is relatively fast, processing trade and bonded logistics is increasing steadily. The import and export of general trade is 60.82 billion Yuan, there is an increase of 26.8%, which accounts for 72.7% of the gross foreign trade of Nantong of the same period.

Apart from that, the trade value of major import and export products keeps increasing. In the aspect of export, in the first quarter, two major products which are electro-mechanical and labor intensive products increased 19.6% and 12.2% respectively, which accounts for 71.2% of gross export of Nantong. Fine items including textile and clothing, organic chemical, container, integrated circuit, sports goods, and ships increased 11%, 57.9%, 13.7%, 60.4%, 6.7% and 2% respectively. In the aspect of import, liquid natural gas increased 57%, which accounts for 32.2% of the gross import value of Nantong；the import values of organic chemical, integrated circuit and agricultural products increased 30.5%, 21.8% and 22.6% respectively.
