Since 20 May, a new round of overseas labour service special rectification has been carried out in Nantong. The action will last 4 months. It is an important measure of departments including Nantong bureau of commerce to ensure people’s livelihood, help in development, maintain stability, and optimize business environment.

In 2021, the number of new overseas labour services is 4774, ranked the 2nd in Jiangsu; in the end the number of labors stay abroad is 16710, ranked the 1st in Jiangsu. As overseas labour service cooperation of our city is recovering, overseas labour disputes are also increasing obviously. From January to April, municipal overseas labour service center received and dealt with 18 disputes and complains, there is an increase of 43%, especially the problem of labour staying abroad after contract is expired, problems like fewer numbers of flights and expensive air tickets cannot be solved, the pressure of ‘two stabilization’ work is large.

The special action arranged 4 major tasks: sort out overseas projects and employees’ conditions, search for and check all potential disputes; handle disputes and complains at hand, appease and guide stranded people; investigate and fight overseas labour field illegal behaviors and operations that violate regulations; guide foreign contracted labour service enterprises to improve overseas project safety production management and epidemic prevention and control work.
