‘Hi, is that ophthalmologist? Chemical injury patient needs treatment at fever clinic, please come quickly!’ at 9 pm 10 October, fever clinic of Nantong second people’s hospital received a Turkish crew member who got chemical in his eyes. The fever clinic opened green medical channel for him immediately, and did nucleic acid test, to do treatment in time.

Ophthalmologist Yuan Jie went to fever clinic at once, took relevant protective measures, and treated the patient. Yuan Jie communicated with the patient in English, asked about medical history and helped him relax. Urgent and effective medical treatment, finally won the ‘defence war’ of the eye! On 11 October, the Turkish crew member came to the hospital for re-examination. Up to now, the eye has recovered well.

In April, a Ukraine crew member got foreign matter in his eye due to work, and was sent to fever clinic of Nantong second people’s hospital for treatment. After detailed examination, Yuan Jie used needle of 1ml injector patiently and carefully, with the help of slit lamp microscope, picked out iron debris from the cornea completely, and applied specific treatment including eye drop and eye ointment immediately. The patient’s injury was treated effectively.

Since start of work, Yuan Jie has received many foreign patients. As fluent foreign language communication, professional technical skills, and patience and care for patients, Yuan Jie was praised by foreign patients.
