On 2 January, Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) took effect for Indonesia officially. On the first day it took effect, Nantong Customs issued RCEP certificate of origin for a batch of Aspartame which was going to be exported to Indonesia to Nantong Changhai Food Additive Co., Ltd. It was the first RCEP certificate of origin to Indonesia issued in Jiangsu. By the certificate of origin, the batch of cargo of the enterprise which was worth 117.8 thousand U.S. dollars can enjoy about 42 thousand yuan tariff reduction.

Nantong Changhai Food Additive Co., Ltd. is a professional manufacturer which does research and manufacture of special food additives. The production and sales of 3 major products which are aspartame, sucralose and folic acid are ranked the top 3 in the world. Indonesia is a traditional market of aspartame export of the enterprise. In the past, the enterprise had to pay 5% import tariff for the products exported to Indonesia. After RCEP took effect in Indonesia, the export tariff cost of the enterprise was reduced to zero.

Indonesia and our country’s economy complement each other. It has great cooperation potential. It is an important destination of ‘One Belt and One Road’ cooperation of Jiangsu enterprises. There are many overseas industrial cooperation districts. After RCEP took effect for Indonesia, cumulative area of origin area will be expanded further, which will promote the advantages complement of industrial chains of member states.
