On 24 March, Wu Xinming, secretary of CPC Nantong Committee, met Zhang Wei, general manager of Merck China medical and health, and her party. The two parties communicated about deepening cooperation.

Merck group, as a leading technological enterprise in the world, is leading in fields including medical and health, life science and electronic technology. Merck Nantong base has become the second largest medicine manufacture center of Merck group in the world.

Wu Xinming welcomed the visit of Zhang Wei and her party, and introduced the social and economic development conditions of Nantong. He said that bio-medicine was a major new emerging industry cultivated in Nantong, Merck group and Nantong had rich and solid cooperation foundation, hoped that Merck would participate in industrial chain, supply chain and innovative chain building of Nantong in depth, promote more high quality projects to settle in Nantong and more high quality pharmaceutical products to be researched and manufactured in Nantong.

Zhang Wei said that Nantong had wide development prospect and good business environment. Merck pharmaceutical Nantong base has had good development, which increased the group’s confidence in investment and plan in Nantong. In the future, they will continue to plough in Nantong market, participate in development of Nantong bio-medicine industry actively.
