On 27 June, the date of installation of keel of the ‘15000 cubic meters cabin capacity LNG powered trailing suction hopper dredger project’ contracted by ZPMC Qidong Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. was confirmed. The building of the LNG powered trailing suction hopper dredger which was the first type in China and the largest in the world was started officially.

The design length of the ship is 155.7m. Its width is 32 m. The loaded draft is 9.9 m. The maximum cabin capacity of the spoil hopper is about 17000 cubic meters, which can fill 6 international standard swimming pools.

The most advanced and intelligent systems in China ‘one click to dredge’ and ‘dredging and navigation integration’ will be installed on the ship. It can adapt to dredging of coastal harbours, deep water channels and coastal maintenance project.
