At 11 am on 6 July, as the red curtain was open slowly, the cutter head rotated, the first TBM of China Railway 14th Bureau Group rolled off at Tongzhou Bay demonstration area. It is another piece of great work of Nantong high end equipment.

Tunnel boring machine is the core equipment of underground boring. It is widely used in transport tunnel construction. The construction efficiency is 3 to 5 times of ordinary mechanized construction. The TBM which rolled off this time is an Earth Pressure Balance Tunnel Boring Machine whose boring diameter is 6.4 meters. The total length of the machine is 76.33 m. The length of main body is 9.33 m. The weight of the equipment is 485 tons. The total installation and test period of TBM is 3 months. After it rolled off, it will be used in construction of underground railway of Ningbo.
