Cooling areas were set up in 28 stations of line No.1 of the underground railway, which provide places to cool and rest for outdoor workers including sanitation workers, urban management officers, couriers, and delivery workers, citizens and passengers.

The reporter saw on site that in cooling areas in the subway station, seats, kettles, disposable paper cups and heatstroke prevention and cooling supplies were put, which made it convenient for citizens to cool and rest, and did not affect passenger’s daily transport.

Citizens who come to cool, are mainly outdoor workers and citizens who live nearby. ‘I work in nearby area, after I finish my work, I can come here and rest for some time, and there is free water to drink.’ Zhang Fang, a sanitation worker said.
