On 18 August, Yao Ming, president of FIBA Asia, president of Chinese Basketball Association, and founder of YAO Foundation came to Nantong, to participate 2022-2023 the 12th YAO Foundation Hope Primary School Basketball Season National Training and League relevant activities. He also visited Nantong Museum and the Chinese Charity Museum.

Since it was founded in 2008, YAO Foundation has become one of the most influential sports charity brands in China.

As the core project of YAO Foundation to improve sports education in rural areas, YAO Foundation Hope Primary School Basketball Season has been held consecutively for 11 batches since 2012. More than 1 million children from the village participated and benefited from it.
