The largest heavy self-propelled cutter suction dredger in Asia ‘Tian Kun’, the first 4000 lots LNG dual-fuel ice zone reinforced car carrier ship in the world, the first 24000 standard TEU Megamax container ship in China, the new generation of 400 thousand tons ore carrier, and other high-tech ships...Recently, one and another ‘The Pillars of a Great Power’ models were exhibited at the Nantong Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Industry Exhibition together, which attracted a lot of domestic and foreign audiences.
‘It is the first cylinder floating production storage and offloading platform in the world...’ in front of the ‘Hope 6’ model of Nantong COSCO Shipping and Engineering Co., Ltd., visitors came non-stop. As a participant of the project, Sun Wei, the business manager of marine engineering and new energy department of the company, introduced the product’s characters to Henrik, the ship owner from Denmark.
After going for one round, Henrik said that Nantong has strong shipbuilding and marine engineering manufacturing abilities, and has a very good foundation in aspects including research, development, manufacturing, and support: ‘our ship is the 3200 tons self-lifting offshore wind power installation ship exhibited this time. It’s very assuring to be built here. It is expected to be delivered in August next year.’
Several foreign-invested enterprises also brought ‘Hit Products’. GTT is a professional engineering enterprise in low temperature thin-film envelope system from France. Its sophisticated technique is applied in liquefied natural gas carriers, floating ports, ground storage tanks, and multi-purpose gas carriers. Thibaut Raeis, the technical manager said that they favoured the unique location advantage and industrial foundations of Nantong. The company has been cooperating with China Merchants Industries Haimen base in the long term. He hoped that they could develop well in Nantong.
Nantong Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Industry Exhibition has been held for two batches. The area of the exhibition halls of the expo this year exceeded 12 thousand square meters. There were about 60 special exhibitions and 150 standard exhibitions. There were more than 200 participating enterprises.
