On 21st April, the new 9100 vehicles roll-on/roll-off ship built by China Merchants Industry Haimen base was undocked successfully.

The ship is one of the new dual-fuel and zero-carbon-ready ‘Aurora class’ roll-on/roll-off series of China Merchants Industry Haimen base. It is also the second roll-on/roll-off ship undocked in Nantong this year. The ship is 199.9 m long. Its moulded length is 196.4 m and moulded breadth is 37.6 m. The moulded depth is 14.53 m. The designed draft is 9.35 m. It has 14 decks. The transport capacity reached 9100 vehicles. The ship is equipped with 1 low speed dual-fuel engine and 3 dual-fuel power generators. It can use LNG and conventional fuels. The ship also obtained ‘ammonia fuel ready’ and ‘methanol fuel ready’ characters of class from DET NORSKE VERITAS (DNV). It is the first type of ship which can use carbon neutral fuel in pure car carrier field. It is the most environmental friendly car carrier in the world up to now.
