On 24th June, the naming and delivery ceremony of the 100th ship of Nantong Xiangyu Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd. was held at the plant area in Wujie Town, Tongzhou District. The 100th ship built by Xiangyu Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering over the past 7 years, ‘CENTURY ZHENGZHOU’, was named smoothly. On the same day, two other new ships of the same type were named and delivered.

The three ships are all ‘Jixiang’ series 63550-ton bulk carriers. It is the latest green and environmental friendly Ultra-Max type optimized and designed independently by Xiangyu Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering. Compared with similar types of domestic and foreign ships, ‘Jixiang’ series 63550-ton bulk carriers have larger load capacity and lower fuel consumption.

‘When we built the first 63550-ton bulk carrier, it took 15 to 16 months from construction to ship delivery. Now it only takes about 8 months. The speed is leading in China,’ the general manager of Nantong Xiangyu Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd. introduced.
