Ship ‘Xin Hai Xun’ carried gas for trial voyage in the Yangtze River

The first dual-fuel powered dredger in China with the largest cabin capacity in the world

It was the second trial voyage of the ship. Different from the conventional power trial voyage in mid-July, this trial voyage carried gas, using LNG as the power, which further increased the risk.

On 29th August, the first large trailing suction hopper dredger powered by LNG and diesel dual fuel power system in China with the largest cabin capacity in the world, ship ‘Xin Hai Xun’, set out from Qidong to the Yangtze River for trial voyage, carrying gas.

It was the second trial voyage of the ship. Different from the conventional power trial voyage in mid-July, this trial voyage carried gas, using LNG as the power, which further increased the risk.

The ship is a piece of new generation of green, smart, and environmentally friendly dredging heavy equipment built by our country. The localization rate has reached 90%. The length overall of the ship is 155.7 m. The moulded breadth is 32 m. The moulded depth is 13.5 m. The loaded draft is 9.9 m. The design maximum capacity of the mud cabin is 17,000 cubic meters. It is the dual-fuel powered dredger with the largest cabin capacity in the world at present.
