What is worth mentioning is that in August, the foreign trade import and export of Nantong reached 48.84 billion yuan. It not only ranked among the top three in Jiangsu province historically, but also significantly refreshed the historical record of 37.68 billion yuan created in July 2022. The year-on-year growth rate reached 56.3%, and it has been increasing steadily for 4 continuous months.

In the aspect of export, the export value of Nantong in August is 35.97 billion yuan. There is an obvious increase of 72%. The growth was mainly due to the strong performance of traditional export products such as ships, containers and integrated circuits.

In terms of import, the import value of Nantong in August is 12.87 billion yuan, and there is an increase of 24.5%. As the high temperature period lasts for a long time in this summer, the demand for electricity was increased significantly, which increased the import of energy products such as natural gas. According to statistics, in August, Nantong imported as much as 907,000 thousand of LNG, which hit a historic high in the past 32 months, with an increase of 83%.
