On 11th October, Nantong and Wels signed a letter of intent for friendly cooperation, to further deepen the economic and cultural cooperation between the two places.
Wels is the seventh largest city in Austria. It forms the second largest economic region in Austria together with Linz. It has about 70,000 residents and more than 5,700 companies, including many internationally renowned enterprises.
Nantong’s economic and trade partners are scattered over 206 countries and regions. There are more than 3,800 operating foreign invested companies. 60 Fortune Global 500 multinational corporations have invested in 112 projects. Austria is one of the most important economic and trade partners of Nantong. The national cooperation project located at Suxitong Industrial Park —— China-Austria Su Tong Eco-Park, since it was founded in 2015, has attracted many excellent high-end manufacturing enterprises in German speaking areas to gather and develop, and has become a model of China-Austria cooperation.
On the day, the global leader in liquid silicone rubber processing, Starlim Group’s project in Nantong——Starlim Nantong plant, was officially completed and went into operation at Suxitong Industrial Park. The project is the first manufacturing base of Starlim Group in Asia. The annual production is expected to exceed 500 million high-performance elastomer parts.
In the past few years, the industrial and commercial circle of Austria has been very optimistic about Nantong's investment environment. Many Austrian companies including STIWA, Starlim, Lecapell have settled and developed. Suxitong Industrial Park has also become one of the Austrian capital clusters with the most Austrian companies in Nantong and the most growth potential in the Yangtze River Delta area.
