On 30th September, the Center of Neurological Diseases in the East Wing of Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University was established and started operation officially. The Center of Neurological Diseases consists of 5 clinical specialties which are Neurosurgery, Neurology, Neurological intervention, Neurological Severity and Neural rehabilitation. There are 355 beds in total.

The center put the wards of Neurosurgery, Neurological Severity, Neurology and Neural rehabilitation on level 12 to 15 of block No.7 of the east wing. It adopts a multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment model based on neurological diseases, and provide patients with comprehensive, convenient and personalized diagnosis and treatment services for neurological diseases through ‘multidisciplinary, teamwork, one-stop and whole process’.

‘Taking patients with cerebrovascular disease as an example, the involved doctors from Neurosurgery, Neurology and the Stroke Center can jointly diagnose and treat in the same room. The patients also do not have to travel too much, and the consultation time can be saved.’ Shen Jianhong, Chief Physician and Professor of Neurosurgery Department of Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University, introduced. ‘During the treatment, doctors from the three departments can make the rounds, adjust medicine, perform surgery and treatment at the same place, truly achieving one-stop treatment and physical operation of the Neurological Disease Center.’
