Singaporean Chinese in a traumatic coma

Qidong doctors helped him regain his life

By Huang Hai

Recently, after more than 20 days of careful treatment and care, 52-year-old Singaporean Chinese Mr. Chen was able to get out of bed and walk around.

On 26th October, Mr. Chen, a Singaporean technician invited by a Qidong shipyard, was accidentally injured in the head. The plant rushed him to the Emergency Center of Qidong People’s Hospital for treatment.

The hospital found that Mr. Chen had a ‘traumatic subdural hematoma’, with severe intracranial hemorrhage. Considering that craniocerebral trauma is not suitable for long-distance transportation, the doctor decisively recommended on-site treatment.

On the evening of 4th November, Mr. Chen’s condition suddenly got worse. Departments including Neurosurgery and Anesthesiology held an emergency consultation, and decided to perform the operation overnight.

On the second day after the operation, Mr. Chen woke up.

Before leaving the hospital, Mr. Chen specifically wrote a letter of appreciation. He said excitedly, ‘my life was saved by the medical staff in Qidong. Your excellent technology has given me a new life. ’
