On 30th November, the 2024 Mayors Exchange Conference on Maritime Silk Road City Influence guided and hosted by Xinhua News Agency was held in Wenzhou.

‘Annual List of China's Influential Cities on the Maritime Silk Road (2024)’ was announced at the conference. Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Suzhou, Wenzhou, Nanjing, Qingdao, Nantong, Changsha and Yantai are on the list.

In the past few years, Nantong has focused on building a marine city. In the past 3 years, Nantong coastal industrial parks have attracted more than 100 billion yuan project investment annually. There are 5 national level and 12 provincial level development parks, 5 national first-class Customs ports and 1 Comprehensive Bonded Zone.
