On the afternoon of 7th January , Zhang Tong, Mayor of Nantong, met with Marcus Holm, the Executive Vice President and Head of Production, Procurement and Logistics of Scania Group and the delegation.
Zhang Tong said that Nantong, a city which has been more and more open, is a preferred place for foreign investment. Scania Group is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of heavy trucks and buses. The cooperation between the two parties is a two-way journey of mutual benefits. She expected Scania Group to continue to increase investment and technological research and development in Nantong, better play the role of chain leader enterprise, and attract more high-quality upstream and downstream enterprises in the industrial chain and supply chain to settle in Nantong.
Marcus Holm thanked Nantong CPC Committee, Nantong government and Rugao for the long-term care and support for the development of the Group, and introduced the progress of the project and future development plans. He said that Scania Group has a history of over 130 years. It works on developing the most advanced heavy-duty trucks. After the completion of the Rugao base project, it will be the third industrial operation center of the group in the world after Europe and South America. It is planned to be put into operation this year. He said that in the future the group will launch more products suitable for the China market, and actively develop the international market, to make positive contributions to the high-quality development of Nantong.
