The reporter learnt from Nantong Statistics Bureau that Nantong’s GDP reached 1.24219 trillion yuan in 2024. Calculated at constant prices, it increased by 6.2% over the previous year.

Market sales keep increasing. The city’s total retail sales of consumer goods reached 427.75 billion yuan, and there was an increase of 1.5%. Foreign trade has grown rapidly. The total import and export volume of Nantong reached 394.99 billion yuan, and there was an increase of 12.9%. Residents’ income has increased steadily. The average disposable income per person of residents was 54,641 yuan, with an increase of 2,788 yuan over the previous year, and the growth rate was 5.4%.
