On 26th January, the largest LNG carrier in the world ‘AL MAFYAR’ successfully completed the receiving and unloading task at CNPC Jiangsu LNG Receiving Terminal, Yangkou Port, Nantong and departed. This time, the ship brought 93,000 tons of liquefied natural gas, which can meet the daily gas demand of 250 million households.
LNG (liquefied natural gas) is an important clean energy source. It is learnt that the ship ‘AL MAFYAR’ is 345.33m long and 53.8m wide. It is the largest LNG carrier with the most advanced facilities in the world at present. Its design load capacity is 266,000 cubic meters, which is equivalent to 160 million cubic meters of LNG. At present there are only 14 ships of this type in operation in the world.
