A few days ago international asteroid committee made an announcement that an asteroid whose serial number is 347336, discovered by purple mountain observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was named ‘Zhang Miman asteroid’ officially, to recognize the major contributions to revolutionary change of early vertebrate evolution research made by academician Zhang Miman, as the founder of research of origin of quadruped in China.

85-year-old Zhang Miman, studied in Nantong middle school in the second semester in grade three of secondary school in 1950. In 1991, she was elected as academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2018, she won ‘world outstanding women in sciences’ title awarded by UNESCO.
