Settlement between Nantong and close to 70 provinces is available with medical insurance electronic certificate or social security card from next week.

‘In the first half of the year, benefited from cross province outpatient expense direct settlement, close to 42 thousand people insured by Nantong medical insurance did not have to go there and back to apply for reimbursement. The involved fee is more than 61.3 million Yuan.’ On 13 July, deputy chief of medical management sector of medical insurance center of Nantong medical insurance bureau Zhang Heng said in the interview.

Last year, the state decided to expand the scope of pilot area, pilot medical institution coverage area, and outpatient expense settlement, on the basis of 12 provincial (district, municipal) pilot areas in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Yangtze River delta and 5 southwest provinces. ‘Since the second half of last year, information system alteration has been started in our city. In the end of last year, the system was connected with national different places medical treatment platform. In the present close to 30 provinces (districts, cities) are on the national platform.’ Zhang Heng introduced that people who are insured with Nantong medical insurance can swipe cards directly to pay outpatient fees at these places after reporting.
