On 30 November, the 1st batch of Nantong economic and trade representatives in Japan reached Japan. It was the first time that Nantong established economic and trade representative office overseas since Chinese economic reform. It was also the first time Nantong went to Japan for investment promotion work in the past three years.

The three representatives selected by municipal bureau of commerce this time can speak Japanese well and have strong investment promotion abilities. After arriving at Japan, they will do their best to attract business, visit old clients and make new friends, improve the connections with Japanese administrative organizations, social groups, commercial associations and sister cities, expand economic and trade network in Japan; work as good propagandists, tell the stories of Nantong well, promote the voice of Nantong and polish the name card of Nantong, promote the industrial policies, business environment of Nantong, let more Japanese merchants know about Nantong and pay attention to Nantong; work as good attendants of economic and trade interaction between all sectors of Nantong and Japan, ensure major projects tracking and connection and municipal delegations to Japan visit, attract more good Japanese invested enterprises to invest and do business in Nantong.

Nantong has taken economic and trade interaction with Japan seriously for a long time. Japan is the second largest foreign investment source and the fourth largest trade partner of our city. Nantong and Japan has solid economic and trade cooperation foundation. Japanese entrepreneurs have invested and established more than 1400 foreign invested enterprises in Nantong, brought over 5 billion U.S. dollars foreign investment which was used actually. In the present, there are 611 Japanese invested enterprises in operation in Nantong, which accounts for 12.4% of foreign invested enterprises in our city.
