Nantong power set out again to help Turkey

3 rescue team members will start 15 days of rescue work

First batch of Lantian rescue team members were ready to set out for Malatya, Turkey.

To help Turkey, Nantong power set out again. At past 11 am 9 February, 2 members of Nantong development district Lantian Xingchen rescue team, 1 member of Nantong Lantian rescue team second echelon flew from Nantong Xingdong airport to Guangzhou Baiyun airport, met the other members of Jiangsu Lantian rescue team, and flew to Turkey at 10 February dawn. The expected rescue period is 15 days.

Vice team leader of Nantong Lantian rescue team Shen Li told the reporter that, as there was materials shortage on the site, team members brought equipment and materials including intelligent navigation terminals, demolition and medical equipment. ‘It is the first time we participate international rescue, and conditions there are not predictable, I hope that they can help local people as much as possible under the condition that they can ensure their safety.’

Before that, after travelling for more than 40 hours, two members of first echelon of Nantong Lantian rescue team arrived at Malatya, Turkey, and started rescue work together with other members of Lantian rescue team. On 9 February they found one corpse and two suspected signs of life. In the present rescue work is still in progress.
