‘Arrived in Jeddah.’ at 3:30 pm 27 April, 10:30 am 27 April local time, warship which Chen Xian and compatriots were on arrived at Jeddah port of Saudi Arabia. Once there was a signal on the mobile phone, he sent a message to report safety to our reporter.
Chen Xian has a plant at SOBA industrial park in Khartoum, capital of Sudan. It manufactures bags for cotton packaging. After Sudan armed conflict occurred, there was constant sound of gunfire in Khartoum, the plant suspended production. After withdrawing to relatively safe Sudan port, Chen Xian did not plan to return home at first, planned to stay in Sudan port for some time, and return to Khartoum when the situation was stable, ‘all airports in Sudan were closed. If I return to motherland, it will be difficult to come back.’ however, hearing that Chinese enterprises were robbed in the industrial park, he decided to leave.
There is a time difference of 6 hours between Sudan and China. At 4:30 pm of the previous day (10:30 local time), when the reporter contacted Chen Xian, who was waiting for evacuation at Sudan port, he was waiting for Customs clearance procedure, ‘We are sure to leave Sudan safely today. I will plan for the next step after arriving at Saudi Arabia.’ As expected, at 4 pm local time, cars arranged by Chinese side carried more than 300 people including Chen Xian to the port. There, two Chinese warships were waiting for them.
‘The moment I got on the warship, I was relieved, everyone was happy.’ at 6 pm local time, the warships left the port, crossed the Red Sea, heading for Saudi Arabia, ‘Dinner and today’s breakfast were both good, and there was places to rest. I really feel the power of our motherland.’
