At about 9 o’clock 25 April, the first newly-built polar exploration cruise this year ‘Ocean Albatross’ set off from Nantong Haimen China Merchants Industry port successfully. It will be delivered directly to American shipowner (Sunstone).

The ship is the 6th ship of China Merchants Industry polar exploration cruise project. The design length is 104.4 m, width is 18.4 m. The design speed is no less than 15.5 knots. The progressiveness and uniqueness are both leading in the world. The ship is installed with advanced electric propulsion and control system. It has unique technological advantages in aspects including ship form design, interior renovation, noise level and energy consumption. The ship was built according to latest polar parameter standards. Extreme high standard level and environmental protection requirements can ensure the ship’s capability of travelling in high latitude regions and smooth travel over the world. It has unique commercial prospect in high end market segments.
