On 9 September, Kite (III) special stamp was issued. The set includes 4 stamps, including one stamp of Nantong Banyao kite pattern. It is the 3rd time to launch kite theme stamp after special stamps Kite (I) issued in 1980 and Kite (II) issued in 1987. It is also the first time Nantong Banyao kite is used as the subject of the stamp.

In the set of stamps, the stamp pattern with Nantong kite characters is called ‘Ruishi Ruyi’. It was created by Guo Chengyi, inheritor of national intangible cultural heritage Banyao kite.

Nantong is one of the four major kite producing areas in China. It is also the major producing area of southern kite.
