On 29th November, the first shared energy storage station in Jiangsu —— Jiangsu Fengchu shared energy storage station project joined the grid and went into operation at Yangkou Town, Rudong County. The project covers an area of 126 mu. The installed capacity is 200 megawatts/400 megawatt-hours. It is the electrochemical energy storage station with the largest installed capacity in Jiangsu at present. After it joined the grid, the annual electricity discharge can reach 120 million kWh.

Jiangsu Fengchu shared energy storage project consists of two major parts which are the energy storage plant station and the 220-kilowatt connection system. The energy storage equipment was installed using prefabricated cabins. The energy storage batteries are all lithium iron phosphate batteries. The project takes advantage of the rapid response character of electrochemical energy storage. It can participate in the peak adjustment operation of the power grid, to help the power grid in decreasing peak, filling valley, saving energy and increasing efficiency.
