On 28th November, Wu Xinming, Secretary of CPC Nantong Committee, and Zhang Tong, Deputy Secretary of CPC Nantong Committee and Mayor, met with Frank Stangenberg-Haverkamp, Chairman of the Board of Merck Group from Germany, and his party.

Wu Xinming welcomed Frank Stangenberg-Haverkamp’s visit to Nantong. He said that Merck Group has settled and developed in depth in Nantong for ten years, increased investment and expanded production continuously. The accumulated investment amount in Nantong exceeded half of the total investment in China. Biomedical industry is one of the 16 advantageous industrial chains mainly cultivated by Nantong. He hoped that Merck Group could put more resources in Nantong, and increase the investment. Nantong will give full support to the development of Merck Group in Nantong.

Frank Stangenberg-Haverkamp has visited Nantong twice. He praised the great changes which happened here. He said that the group paid high attention to Chinese market, was optimistic about the future development of Nantong as usual, would further deepen the cooperation with Nantong, and expand cooperation fields continuously, to contribute more to the scale increase and improvement of biomedical industry of Nantong.
