A few days ago, Nantong was recognized as National Intellectual Property Strong City Building Model.

Up to the end of 2023, there had been 45 thousand effective invention patents in Nantong. The number of invention patents per ten thousand people reached 58. The number of effective trade mark registration exceeded 220 thousand. There had been 46 geographical indications in total. In 2023, Nantong won 9 awards at the 24th China Patent Award and 7 awards at the first Jiangsu Patent Award. Among them there were 1 gold award and 2 silver awards.
