Dozens of cute pets ‘moved in’ to big trees

Tree hole paintings decorate Wangshan Park

By Shen Jiaying

Chubby and naive lesser panda, commanding coiled dragon, capybara with a contented expression...in the past few days, many small animals ‘moved in’ to nearly 40 trees in Wangshan Park at Nantong Innovation District. These are all tree hole paintings made to cover the tree scars.

Wangshan Park is located to the northwest of Chongzhou Avenue and Chaoyang Road. It covers an area of about 5.8 hectares. It is just one street next to Zilang Xintiandi and Zilang Technology City.

After trees suffer from pests and diseases, there will be tree holes of varying sizes. The traditional repair method is to use cement, lime or anti-corrosion paint to daub the tree holes, which is not so good-looking. Zhou Tian, an engineer of Nantong Zilang Company Management Co., Ltd., told the reporter that on the basis of preliminary visit and design, the painters cleared the ulcers on the wounds of tree holes first, then did filling, surface polishing and waterproofing treatment to tree holes, in the end created paintings according to different tree hole shapes, using safe and environmental friendly acrylic paint, which does not cause harm to trees and looks more pleasing to the eye.
