A few days ago, the ship ‘Fu Zhou Guo Ji’ loaded fully with 5 automatic stacking cranes set off to Peru, far away in South America.
Zhong Binghua, a project manager of Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Nantong branch, introduced that the project was for COSCO Peru Chancay Port, and there were in total 15 automatic stacking cranes. The voyage was the first batch.
COSCO Peru Chancay Port faces the Pacific Ocean. It is an iconic project of China and Peru’s joint building of ‘the Belt and Road’. It is also the first port managed and operated by China in South America. After it is completed, it is expected to become a local smart gateway to the world. It is expected to receive over 18 thousand TEUs container ships, and realize an annual throughput of 1 million TEUs, 6 million tons of general cargo and 160 thousand vehicles. It can inject new vitality into the trade between South America and China, and become a new connection point of China and Peru’s economic and trade exchanges.
