On 29th May, Nantong — Samarkand Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Conference was held. The government and business delegation including 15 people which was led by Khamraev, the deputy governor of Samarkand Region of the Republic of Uzbekistan, had face-to-face communication with Nantong departments including business, agriculture, and construction departments and representatives of relevant enterprises in the industries such as agriculture, energy, construction and international logistics, looking for cooperation opportunities.

Samarkand is an important hub city on the Silk Road. Previously, Hai’an Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tashkent Nigati Clinic and Uzbekistan-China Trade Association jointly promoted the construction of China (Jiangsu) — Uzbekistan Traditional Chinese Medicine Center, which built a platform for the dissemination of traditional Chinese medicine overseas, and was praised by local people. Since the end of last year, government and business delegations of the two places have visited each other several times, carried out friendly economic and trade exchanges, and reached a lot of consensus in fields including home textile, clothing, construction, machinery, new materials and new energy.

‘We will encourage Nantong enterprises to go to Samarkand to invest, and bring high quality products from Nantong. We also welcome entrepreneurs from Samarkand to do business in Nantong, and share the development dividends of ‘the Belt and Road’.’ The relevant person in charge of the commerce department said.
