n 9th July, the main body of the Floating Production Storage and Offloading platform built by Qidong COSCO Shipping and Marine Engineering for Woodside and oil and gas project main contractor McDermott departed the port slowly, heading for a shipyard in Shanghai for the final finishing works.

The ship’s main hull was built by Qidong COSCO Shipping and Marine Engineering. The living area modules were built by Nantong COSCO Shipping. The main hull and living area modules will be assembled in Qingdao. Once completed, it will serve in Scarborough gas field in the sea area about 220 km away from the northwest coast of Australia.

In the past few years, Nantong has been leading in global green and clean energy marine equipment market, and gained a firm foothold in green energy equipment research, development and construction market represented by offshore wind turbine installation vessel, Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO), and LNG modules. Qidong COSCO Shipping and Marine Engineering has designed, built and delivered in total more than 50 marine engineering equipment items, and has become a leader in marine engineering equipment manufacturing industry in China.
