In the past few days, Mr. Yu Bo, a businessman from Azerbaijan, has been busy in China Dieshiqiao International Home Textile City in Sanxing Town, Haimen. He went to booths in the market and foreign trade companies, to purchase newly launched home textile products for the customers, and prepare for the coming autumn and winter sale. ‘Every August and September, is when I am the busiest. Because we need to prepare for the coming peak sales season. Dieshiqiao is the wind vane of the international home textile market. There are many bedding products here, a lot of room to choose from. My customers all love it.’
In the past few years, Dieshiqiao International Home Textile City, with its unique industrial advantages, has constantly attracted the attention of international merchants. Some of them seized the opportunity to register international trade companies in Dieshiqiao, some even do foreign trade here in the long term.
Azerbaijan youth Yu Bo came to study in China. After completing graduate studies at Donghua University in Shanghai, he stayed in China to do home textile products foreign trade procurement business. At the start, he worked in a foreign trade company in Yiwu, mainly responsible for the procurement of foreign trade home textiles in Nantong area. As he often travelled between Yiwu and Nantong, and was attracted by the prosperous market in Nantong, Yu Bo considered settling in Dieshiqiao home textile market. In 2023, he registered a new trading company in Sanxing Town —— Nantong Carpet International Trading Company, which specializes in international trade of home textiles in Azerbaijan and other Central Asian countries and regions.
Recently, Jason from Pakistan has been happily bringing his Indian customers to Dieshiqiao International Home Textile City to select goods. ‘We launched 3D microfiber pillow this year. It is a new product we researched and developed independently. The product has quality assurance and trademark copyright, with complete corresponding export customs declaration procedures.’ At one shop, Jason brought his customers to listen to the explanation of the sales person, interpreting and communicating. After listening to it, the Indian customers gave thumbs up, kept saying, ‘very good!’ Jason said that he was a frequent visitor to Dieshiqiao. In 2015, he registered and founded Nantong Shane International Trade Co., Ltd. in Nantong. In 2018, he started to work on home textile foreign trade officially. Now his clients are all over the world.
Apart from founding companies, many foreigners chose to settle in local companies directly, and became foreign trade specialists of local companies. Daniel from the United States is one of them. Three years ago, Daniel joined Jiangsu Dieshiqiao International Trade Co., Ltd. under Jiangsu Dieshiqiao Home Textile Industry Group Co., Ltd. and became an international business specialist. With his and his partners’ efforts, the company established the first overseas trial warehouse successfully——Dieshiqiao (German) overseas warehouse. ‘The feedback from customers has been very good. I am very glad to work here.’ Daniel told the reporter.
As the largest and most comprehensive home textile and bedding professional market in China and even the world, Dieshiqiao International Home Textile City is known as ‘China's Frankfurt’. After more than 40 years of cultivation and development, Sanxing Town has formed a world-class home textile industry cluster with the Dieshiqiao market as its core. The annual production capacity exceeded 200 billion yuan. It is reported that up to now 4 international trade companies registered by foreign merchants have settled in Sanxing Town, and more than 10 foreigners work and stay here for the long term.
