On 23 August, the alternative order between Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd. and Norwegian shipping enterprise Advance Gas was announced effective. The company got the order of 2 additional 40000 cubic meters medium sized liquid natural gas ships.
In June, CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering and Advance Gas signed shipbuilding contract order of 2+2 40000 cubic meters dual fuel medium LPG/liquid ammonia cargo ships. There are 4 ships in the series including alternative order. The price is the same as the previous two sister ships. The total transaction amount is about 1.8 billion yuan. The latest 2 ships are planned to be delivered in the second quarter and the fourth quarter of 2026.
As the new generation of MGC carrier, the ship can be operated by compliant fuel and LPG fuel. It can load multiple types of liquid natural gas cargo including LPG, liquid ammonia, and vinyl chloride monomer (VCM). It can meet the needs of cargo replacement transport. Apart from that, it will be equipped with shaft generator, to improve operation and maintenance cost further, and improve the ship’s environmental friendly capacity, and reduce operation pollution discharge and greenhouse gas emission effectively at the same time.
