In the first 4 months of the year, the foreign trade import and export of Nantong was 115.56 billion yuan, keeping to be the 4th in Jiangsu. There is an increase of 3.9%. It accounts for 6.6% of the total import and export of Jiangsu. Among them, the import value is 42.42 billion yuan, and there is an increase of 13.3%.

Following the development trend of foreign trade, grabbing the rapidly increasing opportunities in cross-border e-commerce market, relevant companies in Nantong are actively securing orders and expanding markets. At the 135th Canton Fair which was held not long ago, more than 400 Nantong companies participated, distributed over more than 600 exhibition booths and 40 exhibition areas, which presented fully the potential and charm of ‘made in Nantong’. At the same time, this year more than 100 companies have ‘gone overseas’ to participate in 34 international expos, grabbing the ‘race track’ overseas. Their footprints are scattered over countries and regions including Japan, Singapore, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam, involving Nantong traditional industrial fields such as shipbuilding, clothing and fabric, and hardware.
