On 27th February, Zhang Tong, Mayor of Nantong, met with Prinat Apirat, Consul General of Thailand in Shanghai, and her delegation.

Zhang Tong welcomed Consul General Prinat Apirat and the delegation to Nantong, and briefly introduced the economic and social development of Nantong. She said that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand. She expected that both sides could make the visit a new start, continue to increase economic and trade interactions, strengthen cooperation, and enhance cultural exchanges, to build a cross-border featured tourism brand together, and achieve more results.

Prinat Apirat said that in the past few years, Thailand and Nantong have had frequent exchanges, and they have a good cooperation foundation and a broad development prospect in many fields. She hoped that both sides could use ‘Golden 50 Years of Thailand-China Friendship’ as an opportunity, to strengthen economic and trade cooperation, increase exchanges and interactions in aspects including economy and trade, education, technology, talent, culture and tourism, deepen traditional friendship and promote prosperity of both places.
