Without a driver’s cabin or driver, not only will the vehicle stop at red lights, but it can also avoid obstacles and pedestrians in time. Recently, an autonomous delivery vehicle appeared in Qidong, which attracted citizens’ attention.
‘The cabin volume of the autonomous delivery vehicle is 6 cubic meters, which can load more than 500 express parcels.’ A worker introduced that the route of the autonomous delivery vehicle was meticulously designed. Workers can click ‘to complete loading and unloading’ on the App on mobile phones, and then the autonomous delivery vehicle will go to the destination itself following the set route.
The maximum speed of the autonomous delivery vehicle is 60 km per hour. It is equipped with sensing devices including more than 10 LiDAR sensors, cameras, and GPS automatic sensing devices. It has 360-degree panoramic view, without blind spots, and can detect traffic lights, weather, light, road width, obstacles and other conditions. Apart from that, workers can monitor the condition of the autonomous delivery vehicle via the mobile App. In case of emergency, it can be switched to manual operation mode, to ensure the safe operation of the autonomous delivery vehicle.
